    1894 (May): 2 d. lake and 2½ d. blue (two examples) used on 1897 registered cover to Banbury, UK tied by scarce "SOMBREIRO RIVER" datestamps (Oct 12) in black. Handstamped 'R' at left and oval framed 'Registered / Liverpool' transit datestamp with time code also on obverse (Nov 25). Reverse with "Bonny River" cds (Oct 20) and Banbury arrival cds's in black. Some peripheral aging around perfs. not detracting from the appearance of a charming and rare cover.rnProvenance: Harmers, London, 20 Dec 1994, lot 1493.
