    Issued at Old Calabar 1893 (Dec): 'Half / Penny' in violet on Great Britain 2 d. grey-green & carmine, an unused se-tenant horizontal pair with first stamp Gibbons Type 7 handstamped surcharge in violet, variety "Surcharge Diagonal Reading Down" and second stamp Gibbons Type 9 surcharge 'HALF / PENNY' in violet with slight nibbed perf. at base, of fine fresh colour, slight fold between the stamps on perfs., typical speckles from red blotting paper utilised to store the stamps on large part og.
