1879: De La Rue artist's Essay for the 1880 1 s. value, using the 1 s. of Dominica applied to card (90 x 112 mm.), painting out the DOMINICA and POSTAGE in the circular band and hand-painted "TOBAGO" and floral rosettes in Chinese white inserted. The card endorsed "Approved / 6/3/79" at base in manuscript.
