1881 (Dec 3): 4 d. ultramarine, wmk Crwon CA, perf. 12½, a single example used on 1884 cover to Mainz, Germany tied by vertical Kingstown "A10" obliterator in black; with 'Kingstown / St. Vincent' cds in red at left (Feb 28) and manuscript '3' credit in red crayon. The reverse with sender's address - who was on board the Ship "Varda" off St. Vincent - with notation on obverse "Picked up in Wayward Coast of St. Vincent WI the 22 Feb 1884" in red ink. An unusual cover.
