    1916 (Jan 4): Envelope from the cabinet in Roma to Marsala, bearing 1916 (Jan) overprinted definitive 20 c. on 15 c. grey-black, tied four days before official issue by ROMA DISTRIBUZIONE cds in black, reverse with "MARSALA 7. 1. 16" arrival cds. An appealing pre-first day usage, the first known day of usage, before this stamp was officially issued to the public on January 8, 1916 to pay the increased inland rate of 20 centesimi. Cert.
