    1931 (May 6): First acceptance of Ceylon mail for transmission by air service to East Africa, registered envelope from Kiriella addressed to the Postmaster in Mwanza, Tanganyika, franked with in total 92 c., forwarded to Karachi and then by Imperial Airways to Cairo and Mwanza with 'May 26' arrival mark on reverse. Fine first flight usage with only five covers flown.
