Losnr. : 9032 Ceylon
Recess by Perkins Bacon 1859 (April 23): 9 d. purple-brown on white paper, wmk. Star, imperforate, the wonderful unused example of fresh vibrant colour with fine even margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at base, merest hint of horizontal bend at base in no way detracting from the lovely appearance of this famous stamp; fresh and extremely fine, trivial age spot on otherwise superb large part og. A spectacular example of an immensely rare stamp. Patrick C. Pearson in his London Philatelist 1984/87 series of articles "Ceylon 'Pence' Rarities - Where are they now?" stated less than 20 unused stamps recorded! Signed Georg Bühler. Certs.
