    Surcharged at the 'Star' Office, Auckland 1895 (May 22): 1 d. in carmine on lithographed 2 d. pale blue, perf. 12, an unused block of twenty-four (6 x 4) with rice paper original backing adhered to gum, showing variety "Deformed "E" in PENI" (Row 2, stamp 2), with requisition sheet number '1846' in margin at right, of fresh colour and superb appearance. A splendid and rare multiple Gi = £ 1'280+.
