Antilles 1857: Cuba ½ r. blue on smooth white unwatermarked paper, a horizontal pair with large margins all round and portion of adjoining stamp at left, used on small 1858 envelope to Bordeaux via British Packet and Spain, cancelled by fine oval network handstamp in black. Double ring CUBA despatch in blue (March 2) and St. Jean de Luz entry marking in red alongside (April 5), where charged with handstruck '5' décimes charge in black: Tariff of 15 July 1849 for a letter from Spain.
