1884/90: Cape 2 d. bistre, three examples used on 1887 cover to Paris, tied by "524" numeral obliterators with ALIWAL NORTH datestamp of despatch at left (Feb 20), the stamps also teid by unframed "T" mark in black. Correctly franked for Great Britain but underpaid for France. 'Calais a Paris' cds on obverse (March 23), the cover was presented to the addressee on three occasions, each time with 1893 1 fr. lilac on pale yellow (Maury T40), each time cancelled by triangular handstamp in black.
