1870/71: France Bordeaux 40 c. orange (Maury 48), margins large to just touched, used on 1871 cover to Bordeaux tied by "5119" gros chiffres of cairo with "LE CAIRE / BAU. FRANCAIS" cds at right (July 3). Underpaid under the new tariff on 1 July 1871 of 80 centimes for 10 grams and taxed with framed "AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT" alongside '6' décimes charge marking (Unpaid letter 1 fr. - less 40 c. = 60 c. to pay). Reverse with Alexandrie cds (July 4) and Bordeaux arrival (July 12). a rare usage of this issue in Cairo and an attractive cover.Ausruf : 250 CHFZuschlag : 360 CHF -
