    1844 (March 13): Ladies Envelope with a most beautiful ornamental design showing una donna in a gardener or shepherdess costume on the reverse (this part with tears), struck with straight line FIRENZE handstamp in black on front and Firenze despatch cds in red on reverse. The letter was directed to Teresa Scotto in Palazzo Scotto in Pisa who had to pay '3' crazie for the postage. A gem.
