    Ballon monté 1871 (Jan. 28): Entire letter to Fleurier, Switzerland, intended for mailing with a ballon monté, franked with Napoléon laureated 30 c. brown, a fresh example, tied by Étoile de Paris '2' obliterator with Paris R. St. Lazare despatch cds and framed PD in red alongside, reverse with Yverdon transit and Fleurier (Feb 14, 71) arrival cds's.rnNote: Entire written on the day the armistice came into effect. It was intended for mailing with a balloon but sent overland. The writing says: "Mes chers parents, Quand vous recevrez ces lignes, il est probable que la guerre sera terminée ...".
