    Ballon monté 1870 (Oct 31): Entire letter carried on board of balloon no. 22 'Le Fulton' to Anvers, franked with Napoléon laureated 30 c. dark-brown, a fresh and fine example, tied by perfect Gros Chiffres '241' numeral lozenge with Paris Auteuil despatch cds and framed PD in red alongside, reverse with Belgian "FRANCE OUEST 4 NOV 70" entry and ANVERS arrival (Nov 5) cds's. The cover was despatched at the Intra-Murros banlieu office of Auteuil, sender was a servicemen of the French navy units on the river Seine, the reverse shows a partial "FLOTILLE DE LA SEINE / COMMANDANT ..." handstamp. An interesting cover to Belgium.
