    1872: Entire letter from Valparaiso to Bordeaux endorsed "Vapeur Chimborazo" at top, struck with 'Valparaiso / Chile' despatch cds in red (May 14), from Colon by French Packet with 'Outremer / Bordeaux' entry cds (June 26) in red where charged '24' décimes handstruck in black. Interesting text in French regarding the irregularities of sending goods by the British packets via the Magellan Straits and thus the preference for the French via Panama. An attractive entire.
