    Outgoing to the Ionian Islands under British rule 1863 (May 1): Entire letter from Kalamata, partially prepaid to the port of Zakynthos / Zante, bearing Paris print 5 l. green on greenish in mixed franking with Athens Print fine impression 10 l. orange and 20 l. blue as well as Consecutive Athens printings 40 l. mauve on blue (2), five adhesive with good to large margins all round and fresh colours, tied with '31' numeral of Kalamata and partially by "ZAKYNTOS 18 MAY 63" Gregorian style arrival cds in blue. Kalamata (May 1, Julian calendar) despatch cds and Greek boxed PD alongside, the obverse shows also '1' (penny) due for the part of the journey within Zakynthos. Reverse with Athens transit cds (May 4). Minor toning of no significance, an exceptional item from the well-known Marcopulo correspondence, showing a four colour franking from three different printings which pays correctly the 115 lepta rate for a fourth rate letter between 15 and 20 gr. with 75 lepta for the Lloyd steamer and 40 lepta for the Greek inland mail.
