    Ballon monté 1870 (Oct 22): Entire letter, internally dated "Paris, 19 8bre 1870", given as 'Pli confié' to the aéronaut Jean-Pierre Nadal, carried on board of balloon no. 15 'Victor Hugo', despatched at the postal system in Tours and addressed to Chateauroux. Franked with Napoléon laureated 20 c. blue, tied by TOURS despatch cds (Oct 22), reverse with arrival cds (Oct 24). A rare entire, cert. Brun (2001) Maury = € 4'500 / Lhéritier = € 4'600.
