    1837 (Feb 4): Entire letter from New York to Valparaiso sent by Forwarding Agent to Callao where placed in the mails with earliest recorded usages of both "CALLAO" handstamp and "FRANCA" in black (Colareta 2+2f). Rated as "½" ounce letter at left and charged "1½" reales at upper right in manuscript. Stained horizontal file fold but scarce.
