    1820 (Oct 19): Colonial entire letter from Lima to Madrid, endorsed "Por la Frigata San Antonio" in manuscript, struck with superb "FRANCA / LIMA" handstamp in red (Colareta 16 - earliest recorded use - Tizón unlisted) and certainly one handstamp rather than two. Disinfected on arrival in Cadiz with chisel slit. External mail is rare in this period, when Spain was losing it's control over Peru.
