    RMSP 1859 (March 23): Entire letter from Caracas to France endorsed "Por el Paquete", franked by 1859 2 r. red, fine impression, with ample to large margins all round, cancelled by superb  "4" numeral handstamp in black (sole recorded usage of this handstamp on a fine print 2 r. cover). Carried on the RMSP "La Plata" from St. Thomas with London transit cds on reverse (April 14) in red and struck there with "GB / 1F 60c." accountancy marking. Calais transit on front and three French datestamps on reverse, charged '8' décimes due on receipt. A very early usage of the first issue on a cover mailed overseas, travelling on the same day and route as the previous lot. Illustrated in Edition D'Or 59 on page 152. A beautiful entire. Cert. B.
