    1856 (Feb): Great Britain 1855 2 d., wmk. Large Crown, perf. 14, plate 5, lettered EA, a single example tied by good strike of the Malta "Wavy Lines" handstamp applied at Valletta in black to Sailor's concessionary rate cover to Chatham, Kent endorsed at top "From George Francis, Seaman / HMS Viper, Malta" and countersigned by his Commanding Officer "H.R.Harris" below; the reverse with London cds (Feb 20) and double arc Chatham arrival (Feb 21) struck in blue. A great rarity - the 2 d. adhesive is listed but unpriced by Stanley Gibbons, this being the sole recorded example used on letter, being used to pay the concessionary rate and the Captain's gratuity.
