    1883 (Sept 27): Page from the De La Rue archives with "St. Lucia Postage Stamps / Existing and proposed Schemes of Colours" showing the 1882 ½ d. dull green, 1 d. carmine-rose and 2½ d. blue } "Colours established by the International / Postal Convention for these duties", and proposals below with 1860/76 design in brown, perf. 12 to replace the 4 d. yellow (perf. 12, Gi 29) and 6 d. violet and 1 s. orange (perf. 14) below } "These colours cannot be improved upon". At left Antigua keyplates ½ d. deep brown, ½ d. pale violet and ½ orange-brown perforated 12 Colour Trials applied to indicate the proposed new colours which were adopted in 1885.
