Provisional Surcharge 1883 (Sept 4): Surcharged "NEVIS ½ d." in black on vertically bisected 1 d. lilac-mauve, a used vertical pair, right halves, with variety "Surcharge Tête-Bêche" with upper stamp showing surcharge reading up and lower stamp with surcharge reading down, lightly cancelled in black leaving the variety clear.
