    Outgoing to France 1851 (Jan 16): Registered envelope from Athens to Paris with Athens despatch cds and SYSTHMENON (registered) handstamp, both in blue as well as PED in red alongside. French entry "GRECE 8 FEVR. 51 MARSEILLE" cds and CHARGÉ, both in red on front, reverse with French postman's handstamps. Envelope roughly opened on reverse, originally closed with a black private wax seal and two wax seals of the Greek and French postal administration, respectively. A very early registered usage, a desirable item.
