    Senegal 1868 (Aug. 5): Envelope from Gorée to St. Péray Ardèche with manuscript "Letttre d'un militaire de l'infanterie de marine à Gorée",  bearing General Issues Eagle 20 c. blue, two fresh and fine examples with good to huge margins, tied centrally by light GOR lozenge with SENEGAL ET DEP. GORÉE cds and octagonal CORR. D'ARMÉES GORÉE datestamp, both in blue, framed PD in red as well as French entry cds of Bordeaux (Aug. 16) in black alongside. Reverse with ambulant and arrival (Aug. 18) cds's. Horizontal file fold well away from stamps and postmarks, an attractive item with a rare franking paying the 40 c. military concession rate.
