    1866: 4 reales, the complete Plate Proof sheet of 104 subjects (13 x 8), printed in dull black ink and showing the marginal horizontal and vertical framelines, exhibiting the close proximity of the stamps and the consequent difficulty in finding four margin examples. Vertical creases in the sixth and seventh rows not detracting from the frontal appearance, position 98 with closed tear at base. A major benefit to the plating of the issue and a remarkable and extremely rare sheet.rnrnNote: From this sheet all the Plate flaws are evident: Position 10 with the "Broad Oval" - almost a circular wide frame to the vignette, this flaw repeated on positions 19 and 50; with position 96 being the narrowest stamp on the sheet. There is a similar Proof sheet illustrated in ‘La Primera Emision de Sellos Postales del Ecuador’ published by the Central Bank of Ecuador (1982),  with plating notes, on pages 55-56.rn
