    1865: 1 real green, a horizontal pair with "Republica del Ecuador" oval Embossed Arms on left stamp, both with large margins all round, positions 89-90 with large break in right vertical frameline on the latter position and showing portion of adjoining stamp at left, used on 1866 single rate entire letter to Lima, Peru tied by "Guayaquil" datestamp (March 13) in black. Lima arrival cds (March 18). Some trivial aging due to the gum but a rare and remarkable usage with very few examples of "Arms Embossed " covers extant. Ex collections Funkhauser and Longhi.
