    1840 (April 25): Entire letter from Jersey, Channel Islands to Calcutta, prepaid via London (May 10, 1840), and sent care of Agents in Calcutta with oval "Forwarded By - Messrs. Bagshaw & Co. - Calcutta" in black  (July 23) to Moughyr. A fine and interesting Overland Mail entire mailed via Malta, Alexandria, Suez and Bombay; with the Agents paying the 14 annas due. Provenance: Collection Scott-Archer.
