International Postal Connections to Europe - Italy 1874/75: Covers (2) from Constantinople to Prato via Vienna franked at the 23 soldi rate with 1867 coarse whiskers 3 s. green, 5 s. red and 15 s. brown; and 1875 cover from Smirna to Naples via Brindisi franked by 1867 pair of 2 s. yellow and two examples of 10 s., overfranked by one soldi but a very rare combination (signed Calves), both with the corresponding transits and arrival datestamps on reverse. A fresh and generally fine pair which display well together to show the validity of the 23 soldi rate be it overland or via the Mediterranean.
