    Disinfected mail 1794 (March 12): Entire letter from Marseille to Aleppo, Syria with two Semlin 'NETTO DI FUORA E SPORCO DI DENTRO' (cleaned from outside, dirty inside) disinfection strikes on front. Illustrated and discussed in 'Die Österreichische Post in der Levante' on page 97. A most unusual destination during this turbulent period.rnNote: A fine usage during the revolutionary wars between France and the rest of Europe showing that the mail system was not affected by this.
