    1866 (Jan 18): Great Britain 1865/67 6 d. lilac pl. 5, three horizontal pairs used on 1866 cover from Malta to Livorno, tied by horizontal "MALTA / A25" duplex (Jan 12) with framed PIROSCAFI / POSTALI / ITALIANI below and red 'PD'. Manuscript '9' indicating the nine times rate (9 x 4 d. = 3 s.) with Messina transit cds (Jan 19) and manuscript '2¾' credit, Livorno arrival cds (Jan 25) on reverse.
