    1865 (Jan 6): Entire letter from Tacna to Castillon, France endorsed 'via Panama', franked by uncancelled Peru 1862 Lecoq 1 d. pink on despatch (Scott 12), prepaid with with superb double arc ARICA datestamp (Jan 7) and equally fine "♚ / PAID / AT / ARICA" handstamp struck in red (unrecorded) and manuscript '11d.' in red. 'London / Paid' transit cds and oval 'PD' in red, thence via Calais (Feb 14) to Castillon. A splendid and very rare entire - the sole recorded usage of this Crown Circle struck in red.rnProvenance: Soler y Llach, Barcelona, 23 March 1994, lot 1407.
