CC, a fine used example sharing small piece with Orange Free State 1877 '4' on 6 d. rose (Gi. 13), cancelled by '8' numeral obliterator of Jagersfontein in black; 1882 Provisional ½ d. on 3 d. deep claret, wmk. CA, two used examples, one with centrally placed surcharge, the other with the surcharge shifted to left - with 'half' omitted from the stamp, this example with the marginal rule in the CC watermark; 1884/90 2 d. pale bistre, a single example used on cover endorsed ‘via Aliwal North’ to Maseru, Basutoland tied by KING WILLIAMS TOWN squared circle datestamp (June 30), reverse with ‘Aliwal North’ cds of transit (July 1); 1893/98 2 d. chocolate brown, wmk. Anchor, an unused example handstamped italic "Specimen" in violet (Samuel type SA1); and 1856 (Aug 23) Cover endorsed 'On H. M. Service' addressed to the Postmaster at Cape Town struck with superb oval PORT-BEAUFORT datestamp in black with oval arrival on reverse of CAPE TOWN in red (Aug 25), Docketed at right "Postmaster, Port Beaufort, Acknowledging receipt of Postage Stamps".
