    Aleppo 1858 (May 3): Unpaid Entire letter from Smyrna via Alexandretta to Aleppo, struck by "SMYRNE TURQUIE 3 MAI 58" cds in black, very rare two line "POSTE FRANCAISE / D'ALEP" handstamp (Pothion = 22 points) and TAXE, both in blue, reverse with ALEXANDRETTW SYRIE 8 MAI 58" transit cds's. Taxed with '20' décimes due upon arrival, a fresh and fine cover, cert. Roumet (1999).
