Mandated Territory of New Guinea 1925 (Jan 23): Native Village definitive issue, ½ d orange in a block of eight (4 x 2) from the top sheet margin with imprint 'ENGRAVED AND PRINTED AT THE COMMONWEALTH TREASURY MELBOURNE', the upper four examples showing the extremely rare variety: Imperforate at Top, characteristic rough perfs, aged / 'suntanned' on the reverse and some split perfs but of very fine facial apperance. One of the major errors of New Guinea: Heward and coworkers in 'The Stamps of the Territory of New Guinea' illustrate this item at page 20 while stating at page 19 to be the only imperforate or part-imperforate error recorded in the entire series.Ausruf : 8.000 CHFZuschlag : nicht verkauft -
