    Canea / Xania 1839 (Sept 7): Entire letter from Canea to Triest from the newly opened Austrian Agency, with manuscript cancellation "Canea" at top, with various manuscript rates at top and struck on arrival with italic "Let.a arivate per Mare." in black and reverse with Triest arrival cds in red (Sept 30). Rated at 10 kreuzer for letter by sea and a further 1½ kreuzer for the use of the Triest Lazaret.
