    1864: Arms 5 s. rose (2 examples) and single 15 s. brown, perf. 9½, used on 1866 cover rto Milano endorsed 'via D'Ancona', tied by fine BERUTTI circular datestamps (24/1) in brown (Tchilinghirian fig. 3). Reverse with fine "Lloyd Agenzie / Smirne" transit cds on (Feb 1) in black and thence passed to the Consular service with "Smirne" cds on front in black and small cartridge "Piroscafi / Postali / Italiani" applied in black with blue "P.D." above. Brindisi and Milano cds's on reverse of an unusual and rare cover utilising both the Lloyd & Consular Offices.
