    Crimean War / British Forces 1854 (Sept 2): Entire letter to London with contents (probably partial) endorsed on front 'via Marseilles' and "Varna Sept 2", the letter headed "On board the Kangaroo in Varna Bay" with content concerning Cholera and "we fill the stomachs of the inhospitable Bulgarians", struck with fair POST OFFICE / BRITISH ARMY double arc cds in black with London arrival (Sept 18), where charged '6' (pence) in manuscript to pay.
