    1860: 30 c. orange, used example of good colour, straight edge at left, used on 1860 second sheet of entire letter to Marseille, carried on the penultimate voyage of the "Vanderbilt" to Southampton, tied by black barred obliterator and 'New York / Paid / 6' datestamp in red (Sept 8). Octagonal Havre entry marking in blue (Sept 19) and reverse with Paris transit cds (Sept 20). An early usage - just a month after the first recorded usage of this stamp (August 8). Scarce Scott = $ 1'350.
