    Recess by Narciso Desmadryl from Perkins Bacon Plates 1854 (Jan-Feb): 5 c. deep chestnut-brown, two fine used examples, each with good even margins all round, used on 1854 entire letter endorsed 'per Vapor Ingles' from Santiago to Lima; tied by two strikes of the circular target handstamp in black. SANTIAGO cds in red of despatch (Feb 14) and carried North from Valparaiso on PSNC Steamer with fine VAPOR SANTIAGO / P handstamp in black. Reverse with circular 'Vapor / Lima / 1854' handstamp of arrival in blue. A very early usage of the Desmadryl issue on a remarkable and extremely rare entire, especially used to a destination abroad.
