    Recess by Narciso Desmadryl from Perkins Bacon Plates 1854 (Jan-Feb): 5 c. deep (rose) red-brown, imperforate Plate Proof block of four on unwatermarked medium wove paper without gum, marginal from left of sheet with "..reciso cuidar de no quitar el cim(ento)" italic imprint. Minor thin, small corner bend and slight aging of no great significance, a scarce and most attractive multiple: this initial Trial Printing of what is believed to have been just 5 sheets (1'200 stamps) is irrefutably the most accomplished production of the first Colon issues.
