    Overprinted "V.R. / Transvaal" 1877 (Dec 6): New Printings on orange paper, 1 d. red on orange, imperforate, optd. Type 6, a used example with large margins all round tied to 1878 cover carried at Military concession rate from Lydenburg to a Private Bailey of the 80th Regiment in Pretoria, tied by circular "13" numeral obliterator with LYDENBURG / Z.A.R. /ZUID AFRIKA cds alongside (Sept 28). On arrival forwarded on to Fort Weber in red manuscript ink. Somewhat soiled on reverse probably from an old scrapbook. Unrecorded in the Jorgensen census, closed cover tear but a very rare usage.
