    Overprinted with small 'G' in 2 Types 1878 (June): Cape 1 d. carmine-red optd. "G" in black in a horizontal pair used with single 4 d. blue optd. "G" in black, all Type 15, on 1878 mourning envelope to Chelmsford, Essex, tied by double arc KIMBERLEY datestamps in black (June 25). 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' transit cds (July 2) alongside. Reverse with Chelmsford arrival cds (July 27) in black. Some minor edge wear to envelope but a splendid and very rare cover.
