Griqualand West 1864/77: 1 d. carmine-red in a horizontal pair with single 1 s. green, used on 1871 cover from Diamond Fields to Philadelphia, USA via London, tied by triangular handstamps with 1/1 d. rate marked in manuscript red crayon. Oval framed DIAMOND FIELDS despatch in black (May 2) and 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' transit (May 11) alongside.
