    De La Rue Printing 1863/64: 1 d. deep brown-red, a block of four with clear to large margins all round, tiny age spot in margin, used on 1865 entire letter from Sir Lowry's Pass Station to Stellenbosch, cancelled by two fine strikes of the CGH obliterator in black. 'Cape Town / Cape Colony' circular datestamp at right (July 1) and reverse with oval framed SIR LOWRY'S-PASS despatch in black (June 31, sic) and STELLENBOSCH arrival in black. A fine and rare cover, the contents are a monthly report, referring to the hire of a fellow road-worker and stating that 400 yards of road at the Pass had been recoated that month.
