    1916 (July 5): The famous SPECIMEN set of fourteen values comprising: ½ d. - £ 1 complete, all cancelled as Specimens for distribution to the UPU in Berne with "Rabaul" circular datestamps in black. The set sent to Bechuanaland Protectorate as Specimens and handstamped there upon receipt with diagonal SPECIMEN in black (Type BEC2a).
