    1891: 5 d. purple-brown, a single example used on 1894 registered cover to New York endorsed 'via Sydney'. together with 1884/96 Stamp Duty 1 d. ochre, perf. 12½ (3) all tied by "Registered / Melbourne" datestamps in black (May 11). Reverse with 'W.M. Ackland / Foreign Stamp Importer' cachet in violet and is addressed to the American dealer G.B. Calman with New York arrival (June 7) in violet. Slight trim to envelope at top but a fine and unusual usage.rnrn
