    1870 (April 22): Cover from Mount Blackwood to Boston, USA franked in full payment via Southampton with Laureated 1863/74 6 d. blue and 1870 De La Rue 2 d. brown-lilac tied by numeral obliterators in black with BLACKWOOD datestamp (April 22) at left in black. 'London / Paid' transit in red (June 17) on obverse with '2 Cents' red credit marking of arrival (illustrated in Ben Palmer 'Pre-UPU Mail of Victoria' on page 213. Coupled with a further cover carried at 11 d. rate with defective three colour 1871 franking from Smeaton (Jan 2) to Saratoga, NY also via Southampton.
