    1897: Die / Plate Proof in black for 1½ d. value on cream wove paper, 50 x 64 mm., engraved by Arthur Williams of Sands & MacDougall and typographed at the Victorian Government printing Office. An example possibly of Plate Proof status from top right corner of a sheet, with manuscript "White Paper & Green ink 5/10/97 120 on a sheet", this being dated two days prior to the issue of the 1½ d. in apple-green. Fresh and very fine, a remarkable Proof, being the sole recorded example.
