    Woodblock Issue 1856 (Jan 21): Entire letter from London to Melbourne prepaid in cash, endorsed at top 'per Sardinian Mail Packet', with, on reverse SHIP LETTER / FREE / G.P.O. VICTORIA datestamp of receipt in red (May 1). The addressee had moved and the letter was forwarded on under registered post from Melbourne to care of P.O. in Tarrengower with further mss. 'with 2 Newspapers', franked by Woodblock 'Registered' 1 s. rose-pink & blue, 1854/57 Campbell & Fergusson 1 d. rose and 3 d. bright blue, all tied by circular "1" numeral obliterator of Melbourne in black. Reverse with 'Maldon / Victoria' arrival datestamp (May 5) in black. The registration 1 s. slightly faded but all adhesives with good margins for these issues, a charming and extremely unusual entire.rnrnProvenance: Collection Charles Jewell.rn                   Collection R.
